The Mikado is the most popular Gilbert and Sullivan comic opera, and arguably the most popular comic opera ever written. This opera has delighted audiences for more than a century, and spawned a number of imitations. But none were nearly as good as the original, which represented both Gilbert and Sullivan at the height of their creative geniuses. Featuring songs such as ‘3 Little Maids’, ‘The Sun Whose Rays are all Ablaze’ and ‘Willow Tit Willow’ the audience will be foot tapping and humming through each performance. HMDS Mikado with a very experienced production team is featuring some of the best amateur principle singers in Sydney and a very solid supporting chorus.

We have gone live for our Mikado Ticket Sales. The Ticket server is hosted by our Webmaster, you will never be asked for banking or credit card information by anyone associated with the maintenance or content of either this www.hmds.org.au or our webmaster's www.markpower.info  site, and such information will never be stored on our servers.

About Us

Holroyd Musical and Dramatic Society (HMDS) is an amateur theatrical society located in the Holroyd council area of Western Sydney.
HMDS was formed as a result of a public meeting held on 24th February 1971 and has existed since that time with the support, both moral and financial, of the Holroyd City Council and members of the local community. Two of the earliest committee members were Aldermen of Holroyd Council.
The society performs musicals, pantomimes and straight plays.
Membership is open to people over the age of 16. Children are permitted to perform in shows where children are required, for example, pantomimes and some musicals. We welcome all interest in our society, whether you enjoy acting, directing, back-stage, set design/building, costumes, front-of-house, or any other aspect of community theatre.
